OUR EXCITING THEME:

"HOW JAZZ MAKES WOODY ALLEN'S FILMS MAGICAL AND MEMORABLE".

Special Guest Is Patricia Myers: Jazz Critic. Free-lance Writer from Scottsdale. Arizona

Patricia Myers has been coming to Paris during the summer for 20 years and writes articles about food-and-wine, travel and entertainment, especially jazz. She likes to find new elements of jazz to write and speak about, and she will talk about how and why Woody Allen includes jazz music in his films.

About Patricia Myers:

Patricia writes for national and international print publications, and the Allaboutjazz.com website, where she writes an annual review of the Paris summer jazz scene. She researched and wrote “Scottsdale:Jewel in the Desert”, a 100-year history of the city that tells and shows in vintage photos how a small farming town evolved from the early 1900s into a tourist destination. She is now writing a novel of historical fiction that relates to Paris and World War Two.

For many years, Patricia was an entertainment columnist, and also was editor of a 16-page Food section in the largest daily newspaper in Arizona. Among the topics she wrote about were chocolate and aphrodisiacs, of which she talked to Paris Soirées

Patricia Myers has been a Time Magazine correspondent and a contributor to Time-Life books. She was awarded a graduate fellowship in journalism at Northwestern University in Chicago, and taught mass communications courses at Arizona State University.

There will be CD music played to accompany the films that she will talk about.

Promises to be fun and a real musical treat.
