In the 60s while marches, school desegregation and sit-ins spread across America a skinny black kid from Chicago arrived in Paris and at first thought he had died and gone to heaven. It was not quite that good. Morrison-Reed talks about watching the Civil Rights Movement from afar and what has changed since then.

(Background: Before Paris. When in 1962 Mark Morrison-Reed, a 13-year-old black kid from South Side Chicago, moved to Switzerland with his family he said “It felt like we were integrating the whole country.” That is when he had to learn to live “in between.” President Obama, given his mixed heritage, playfully referred to himself as a mutt. He, too, had to learned to live in between – cultures, races, ...)
